Sjiek de Freak gaat verhuizen!
Starting January 1, 2026 I'll be cutting hair from my own salon space in De Vrouwenschool at Dominicanenstraat 6 in Nijmegen.
A 5-minute walk from the city center, and two buses stop there!
A safe, queer-inclusive, and creative space where you'll find a salon that feels soft, unique, and completely right. And with a fantastic bonus: the beautiful, large garden!
After a lot of hard work, I think I’ve managed to create the perfect Freak Studio.

Why this move?
After a beautiful period at SauchaKapper, it’s time for the next chapter:
a studio where Sjiek de Freak can fully unfold.
A space where you feel welcome, affirmed and fully safe. A place where there's room for queer and gender-inclusive hair care. A place that exudes creativity, passion. love and where every unique individual can be celebrated.

Getting there
By bus:

Bus 2 (Lindenholt West - Nijmegen CS - Sint Maartenskliniek)

Bus 8 (Nijmegen hatert - Nijmegen CS - Berg en Dal)
Both buses stop nearby the Dominicanenstraat. From the bus stop, it's only a few minutes' walk.
By bike:
You can park your bike right ouside the building.
By car:
You can park in the street (paid parking), at the Daalsehof (2 hours free parking + a 3 minutes walk) & at the Wedren + Vierdaagseplein (11€ for 24h parking + a 15 minutes walk).

What is
De Vrouwenschool?
De Vrouwenschool is a living- and working community in Nijmegen for women and non-binary people. It's a feminist, queer-inclusive space where diverse makers, entrepreneurs and residents live, create and support each other.
The building offers space for:

a safe environment for everyone who identifies within the target group (and all ally's are, of course, also very welcome!)
My salon is located in the basement (a.k.a. a basementstudio), a quiet, warm and private space in this community. A home base where gentleness, queerness and creativity converge.
Accessibility
At this moment the salon is not fully wheelchair accessible, due to a small step at the entrance of the building.
